Learn about germs!

A cute story with charming and colorful illustrations. The title says it all, germs are everywhere and they WILL get you sick. The germs are brightly colored and cute and the cat character is simply draw but very appealing. I think kids will definitely find this book engaging and as we’ve all learned in recent years it Carrie’s an important message about hand washing and staying healthy.

I always worry that books about germs will go a bit too far or scare young children, but Germ! Germs! They Don’t Care has just the right tone and approach. Written in an accessible and fun rhyming style this is a story that also teaches an important message: how to avoid spreading germs/infections or avoid catching them in the first place.
Poor Miyam the cat catches a cold/virus and has all the usual symptoms. How did the germs get him, what should he do? I love the illustrations and the expressions on the characters faces – including the germs! Young children will love the hearing this story, looking at the pictures and talking about a familiar situation. There is even a little bird to search for and find on each page. As a previous early years teacher I would have loved this book in the classroom and it is also great for sharing at home. Read via Kindle Unlimited.

Germs! Germs! They don’t care! is an adorably illustrated story and was the perfect morning read with the grandkids. It’s a rhyming story, our favorite, about germs and teaches an important lesson about how easily they spread and ways to keep them away. Silly and educational at the same time!
Learning about germs just got fun!

A fun easy-to-read rhyming story about germs, that gives young kids a fresh perspective on how imperative it is to wash hands, not eat off the floor and stay healthy. Sometimes it is hard to explain hygiene to little kids. “Germs! Germs! “Germs!” by Kellie does a great job at this! It shows kids what happens when Miyam, an adorable cat falls sick and recovers.
Miyam’s yellow duck friend on every page is adorable, too. Kids will have a blast learning and playing with this book! It is a must-read for all elementary school students and preschoolers alike.
Terrific, timely little story that teaches and entertains

I really like this book. The story is fun, the illustrations are visually appealing, and the simple messages within it about how easily germs spread and the affect they can have on our health is very timely. I also loved that the author has developed characters from her own children’s beloved toys, and also incorporated some of her child’s drawings into the illustrations. Very clever.
This was an excellent find. Highly recommend.

A godsend for parents!

When many of us are still suffering from the pandemic to a greater or lesser degree, Speechley’s new book, “Germs! Germs! They don’t care”, is most timely—and I, as a parent of a 5-year old, would say, a godsend.
How can we explain to a small child the importance of keeping their hands clean and avoiding germs? Keep saying to them again and again, everyday, day and night, don’t do this, don’t do that won’t help much. “Germs! Germs! They don’t care” tells the story of germs in a fun and memorable way. It provides the characters for us to talk to children about basic personal hygiene and how their body would feel when they get sick so that they won’t get too scared when they do get sick. With the lovely pictures and rhymes, it is the kind of book that children want you to read with them again and again—even after they can virtually memorize the whole text. Thank you, Kellie, for helping us keep our children healthy!

This book balances the right mix of facts and fun to keep kids engaged on an important topic that’s not written about. The writing is clever and suitable for a range of ages to learn more about germs and hygiene.
